A luminous ceremony in which the film abandons the limits of the screen, and desire is celebrated amid fire and smoke. The projectionist takes on the role of altar boy, dealing with the act of projection as a ritual gesture. The image becomes a confession; the movie theatre, a space for transit. The codes of Mass are rewritten from a critical and queer perspective. Niño monaguillo y sus pecados is a film performance in which real-time manipulated analogue projection, mise-en-scène, and sound accompaniment all work together. The proposal is arranged into three acts focusing on the fragmented memory of an ecclesiastical childhood. Whispered revelations and confessions emerge from an unstable image that flickers and overlaps. The dissolution of the traditional montage gives way to a perceptual drift in which the recording time and the broadcasting time coexist and contaminate each other.

Three 16 mm projectors make up the piece’s technical basis. The operator works on the beam of light, playing with loops, filters, and spotlights in real time, making its performative nature visible. The live manipulation of analogue mechanisms combined with Le Chatelier’s musical compositions transforms the screening into a shared act that praises the links between cinema and liturgy, reactivating the ceremonial nature of the cinematic experience.
