AULA CREA | COORDINADORA DEL CORTOMETRAJE ESPAÑOL. SPACES FOR THE DISCUSSING AND PROMOTING INNOVATIVE AND EXPERIMENTAL CINEMA

Friday June 4 | 1:30 pm | SALA (S8) PALEXCO | Get your free ticket here

Coordinadora del Cortometraje Español (the Spanish agency for the promotion of short films) has put into place the platform Archivo del Cortometraje Español (Spanish short film archive), which intends to be a plural, open, and all-encompassing space for the international promotion, dissemination, and visibilization of short films produced in Spain, an activity that will complement our traditional efforts for bringing cinema to the front in our country. With an inclusive, plural, and transversal approach, this initiative intends to be an open meeting point for public and private funds, filmmakers, artists, associations, festivals, and companies –a space where all the agents of the sector will be represented.

The presentation of this platform, with details about its schedule and goals, will be paired with a session for discussing the state, needs, and specificities of contemporary experimental and innovative cinema, with the aim to bring together a work group that will be in charge of designing and developing specific actions and tools that allow us to promote, accurately and successfully, experimental and innovative works and the artists behind them. In the same way, Coordinadora del Cortometraje Español commits itself to supporting the consolidation of a network of exhibition spaces, projects, institutions, and festivals that collaborate in dissemination and promoting this art. At the Coordinadora, we are aware that experimental and innovative cinema has its own specific requirements in comparison with other film and video formats. On the other hand, we firmly believe that the establishment of a collaborative network is essential to achieve our shared goals: to bring experimental and innovative pieces closer to both professional environments of the film industry and to the general audience.
