Healing Ray is an invitation to simultaneously and collectively allow ourselves to be exposed to a healing ray of sounds and images. The artist Suárez-Quiñones, with a background in architecture, went through collective and global experiences in 2020 that led him to take up an interest in the suggestive power of 16 mm images, trying to find ways to create an experience of calm and healing in the audience. This research into the healing power of images acted as a point of connection with the musician and producer Ylia, who has studied the properties of certain sounds capable of generating feelings of relaxation, in collaboration with researchers from CSIC (Spanish National Research Council). Hence, in Ylia’s sound-based initiative, she explores the effect of binaural sounds in relation to measurable waves in an electroencephalogram, all in an atmosphere of immersive listening. This is a collective sensory exploration in real time that takes us from black to white through the entire spectrum of light, gently rocked by currents of sound flowing like rivers.
